about me.

My name is Aaron, and I am a story addict. I wrote my first story at the age of 5, and I was hooked. In fact, one of my favorite stories to tell today is about that very piece! It was about a young girl and her “unipeg”—a unicorn with wings; my young self noted with pride—embarking on a quest to find her mother. Their journey takes an abruptly grim turn when they walk through a blood-soaked dungeon. This is where my adult self picks up the tale. I remember struggling to describe a device I now know is called an iron maiden. Little me did not know this, so instead, I settled on the abstract and poorly spelled “implement of torture.”Today, the stories I write are not so different from that very first one. I still love unicorns, and given an excuse to include an iron maiden, I more than likely will. If I had to assign my work a genre, I would term it as LGBT+ alternative fantasy with a secondary emphasis on romance. However, I find this description somewhat lacking. I have always felt drawn to fantasy imagery as a way to explore complex concepts such as religion and morality. How much of someone’s behavior comes from societal norms? How much is from experience, and how much is from the simple fact of being human? Fiction is my space to ask these kinds of questions and find at least one of the many answers out there.Ultimately, I want my stories to resonate with the reader. I want my characters to become friends; I want my worlds to be diverse. Above all though, I want to tell the truths I see—and writing fiction is the best way I know.

Consent is critical in all things, so I will always provide sensitive content warnings.Regardless of theme, I aim to be respectful of all cultures and identities with everything I create. Good art isn't always comfortable for everyone, but that doesn't mean it should endanger or perpetuate hatred toward any vulnerable or marginalized groups.

I'm pro-human-creator. I write all my own work and use minimal AI tools only for accessibility—limited grammar checks when I'm stuck and chat to help organize my thoughts. I avoid financially supporting generative AI companies, and all of my ideas are my own.Until real protections exist for creators, I stay cautious and intentional about what tools I use and how I use them. Human creatives are losing work to AI every day, and nearly every major AI model is trained on content scraped without consent.I'm neurodivergent. Some AI tools genuinely help me function as a creator, and I'm doing my best to balance accessibility needs with ethical concerns. I believe that AI, with appropriate regulation, can be a massive benefit to a wide range of people. However, we will only get there by continuing to say "no" to theft and abuse of human creativity.
